Officer M. Hwang responded to a call for service regarding a stolen bicycle report. The victim, in this case, was an 11-year-old boy who was extremely distraught from having his bicycle stolen.

On Saturday September 28th, approximately 140 students from the Magnolia School District attended a free STEM event held at the Muzeo in Anaheim. The event was put on by Andrew Needles, the CEO of Clarkson Technologies. Younger students had fun learning about polarity in batteries as they raced toy cars using magnets to propel them.

On Tuesday, September 24, an enormous truck delivered a plethora of supplies for the students and teachers at Juliette Low School of the Arts. Dr. Frank Donavan, Superintendent, Dr. Debra Von Sprecken, Principal, Mrs. Alicia Vera-Weddle, Instructional Practices Coach, and six Peer Assistance Leadership (PAL) students greeted Ms. Sydnie Bingabing of Clements Design and the truck as it pulled into the Low lot.

Thanks to a fantastic partnership between the Magnolia School District, Love Anaheim, the Magnolia Baptist Church and the Anaheim Rotary Club, 100 hygiene kits were assembled and donated to Project HERO.

Thanks to the generosity of the Anaheim Rotary Club, 308 Magnolia students will receive brand new backpacks filled with plenty of school supplies. Rotary members and Magnolia staff members delivered the backpacks to the District on Thursday, August 28th and several students and families were present to receive their backpacks. The remaining backpacks will be delivered to students across the District.

Magnolia School District is proud to announce that Dr. Albert Schweitzer, Dr. Peter Marshall, Dr. Jonas Salk, Juliette Low School of the Arts, Robert M. Pyles STEM Academy and Walt Disney schools were named as 2018-19 California Honor Roll schools by Educational Results Partnership, a data science organization which recognizes high-performing, achievement gap-closing schools across the state.

Twenty-three Juliette Low artists showcased their beautiful pieces at Senator Chang’s Art Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 24 at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center. In the Third through Fifth Grade Division, Aanya Shah, fifth grade student, received Honorable Mention for her colored pencil drawing entitled “Flower Vase.” In the same division, Bahista Khairkhwah, fifth grade student, received Fifth Place for her painting, “Landscape,” which was done in oil pastel. A fourth grade student, Jade Nguyen, won the Staff Favorite Award for her acrylic painting, entitled, “A Home in Progress.”

This is an excerpt from a poem entitled “Only an Earth,” which was read by sixth grade student, Maanya Arora, at the Earth Day poetry reading on Monday, April 22, at the Anaheim Central Library. Anaheim students were invited by our Poet Laureate of Anaheim, Mr. Grant Hier, to read their original poems inspired by Earth Day. Dr. Von Sprecken, Principal, and Mrs. Todorovic, first grade teacher, attended this exciting event.

For the second consecutive year, performers from Laguna Playhouse TheatreReach performed for students at Juliette Low School of the Arts on March 27, 2019. This year, fourth and fifth-grade students enjoyed a rendition of Island of the Blue Dolphins, which they had read and discussed in class. Students were mesmerized throughout the performance, and, afterward, had the opportunity to ask questions of the actors.
