Poets from Juliette Low School of the Arts Read at Earth Day Event
“Some say that global warming is a lie,
Yet, in front of our eyes, the animals die.
An earth filled with trash, an earth so dead,
No plants, no animals, no roses so red.”
This is an excerpt from a poem entitled “Only an Earth,” which was read by sixth grade student, Maanya Arora, at the Earth Day poetry reading on Monday, April 22, at the Anaheim Central Library. Anaheim students were invited by our Poet Laureate of Anaheim, Mr. Grant Hier, to read their original poems inspired by Earth Day. Dr. Von Sprecken, Principal, and Mrs. Todorovic, first grade teacher, attended this exciting event.
